Spanish has a long list of funny and interesting expressions that are often difficult to translate directly into english. But what about Catalan?

And what about the broccolis?! If I want to translate this Catalan sentence directly into English it would say something along the lines of, “There is no broccoli left”. I know, it sounds weird, doesn’t it? They use normally if they want to stretch oneself, to go beyond one’s limitations. Kind of like when you’ve eaten everything on the plate but the broccoli and your mother insists you eat them all!
